ET's Denny Directo caught up with the Modern Family star on the red carpet, where she revealed that her confidence comes from her sister, Shanelle Workman.
"My sister really, she's an amazing sister," Winter shared when asked who inspired her. "She was an amazing teenager, she's an amazing woman, and I'm just so grateful I've had that role model, because she's always taught me, 'Feel good about yourself no matter if you're in your pajamas at the grocery store or if you're in a ball gown at a premiere.' So she was always my role model in that way."
"It definitely has been [difficult growing up in the public eye]. It's hard to go through your awkward stage in front of the camera. It's hard to go through your, you know, 'I'm a kid, now I'm an adult' phase. It's kind of weird," she added. "So it's been kind of hard."
Winter is grateful to be playing Smurflily in Smufs: The Lost Village, but said she's also looking forward to her "adult career."
"I don't know [how much longer Modern Family will go on for]. I look forward to movies, hopefully," she shared. [I] definitely [want to do some grown-up stuff next]. That's what I'm looking for. I'm 19. I want to push forward in my adult career."
Winter has certainly been displaying her more adult side on Instagram. On Friday, the actress celebrated her return to the U.S. from China by sharing a booty-baring pic.
"The booty's back in Cali☀️," she wrote alongside the snap of her bare derriere.
