After nearly seven years of marriage, the former Friends star and the British photographer have separated in order to focus on figuring out where their relationship stands in the future.

"It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart while we determine the future of our relationship," the two said in a statement given to ET on Wednesday, after Us Weekly was first to break the news. "Our priority is, of course, our daughter's happiness and well-being during this challenging time, and so we ask for your support and respect for our privacy as we continue to raise her together and navigate this new chapter for our family."

Schwimmer, 50, and Buckman, 31, tied the knot in June 2010 after meeting on the London set of Run, a romantic comedy directed by the actor. The two share one child together, 5-year-old daughter Cleo.
