Amber Heard and Elon Musk were spotted hanging out in Australia over the weekend, making their romance very public after months of keeping things clandestine.
Despite claims that their relationship had previously been platonic, a source tells ET that the two have been dating for some time.
"While the two claim to have just been friends and dating rumors have been denied, they in fact have been romantically involved," the source shares.

Heard and Musk first met "a few years back while Amber was with Johnny [Depp] and [they] were strictly friends," the source says, adding that their romance developed over time.
Heard, who recently went through a tumultuous divorce from the Pirates of the Caribbean star, isn't looking to settle down, the source notes, but is having a fun time with their burgeoning romance.
"Elon is very attentive to Amber, which is something she looks for in a partner," the source says.

Heard and Musk reportedly struck up their romance a few months after Musk filed for divorce from ex-wife Talulah Riley, whom he was married to and divorced from twice. Heard's divorce from Depp was finalized in January.
On Sunday, the cute couple was spotting at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland, Australia, where they were photographed zip-lining through the trees and holding hands as they walked together. Musk came to visit Heard, who has been on location filming her scenes in the upcoming DC action epic Aquaman.
