Simon: Britney is 'Very Tough to Please'

Just before The X Factor launches its much-anticipated second season, the judges hit Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood for a special screening of its upcoming premiere. At the event, creator and judge Simon Cowell talked about the show's new judges, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

"We all have different opinions, and that's really why we hired them," Cowell said. "Britney [is] very, very tough to please as you will see on the first episode, but the first episode is probably the best TV show we've ever made. It's that good."

While the show's new judges are all the hype, the show is ultimately centered upon its contestants, who are competing for a grand prize of $5 million and a recording contract with Cowell's record company, Syco Music, which currently houses Leona Lewis and Il Divo.

"It's different," Cowell said of this year's talent pool. "We didn't want the same thing all over again. We did the right thing: we got the word out; we got good people turning out. The groups are much, much better this year."

In addition to X Factor's new judges bringing new-fangled vigor to the show, the show's new host has yet to be announced after former host Steve Jones was ousted along with Season 1 judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paul Abdul.

While Cowell preserved the intriguing secrecy of the new host for viewers to discover during the show's premiere, he addressed lingering rumors that reality television star Khloe Kardashian was selected as host.
