Kara DioGuardi Welcomes Baby Boy

After years of anguish, former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and husband Mike McCuddy have welcomed their first child together.

According to People, the baby boy (named Greyson James Carroll McCuddy) was born via gestational surrogate on Thursday afternoon, weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces.

The middle name Carroll is reportedly in honor of DioGuardi's mother, who died from ovarian cancer in 1997.

Two weeks ago, the 42-year-old Grammy-nominated songwriter confirmed to People that she and her husband decided to use a surrogate after years of struggling with fertility issues.

"I've got two people on my mind," DioGuardi said. "Her (the surrogate) and the baby. She's given us this incredible gift."
