Taylor Swift defends - again - her right to write songs about exes.

Taylor Swift is notorious for writing about her ex-boyfriends, and she is never, ever, ever going to apologize for it.

NEWS: Taylor Swift Unveils "Out of the Woods"

In her songs "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and her latest release "Out of the Woods," the 24-year-old singer has torn into former flames – and she has been getting a lot of heat for it. Now she's fighting fire with fire.

Appearing on Australian radio show Jules Merrick & Sophie on Monday, she says her song critics are sexist.

"Frankly, I think that’s a very sexist angle to take," she says. "No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says that about Bruno Mars. They're all writing songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life and no one raises a red flag there."

Ed Sheeran's hit "Don't"
even talks about the ex sleeping on the same hotel floor with a new guy.

Taylor, who since palling around with Lena Dunham is now more comfortable calling herself a self-proclaimed feminist, is notorious for leaving fans and critics guessing as to which song is about which ex. Rumors swirled that "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is about Jake Gyllenhaal, "I Knew You Were Trouble" might be about John Mayer, and her latest hit "Out of the Woods" is speculated to be about Harry Styles.
