Paris Hilton is starting the new year as an engaged woman.
The 36-year-old heiress confirmed on Tuesday that she got engaged to her boyfriend, actor Chris Zylka. Over the holiday weekend, the couple went on a romantic ski trip in Aspen, Colorado.
“I am so excited to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend,” Hilton tweeted. “I have never felt so happy, safe and loved. He is perfect for me in every way and showed me that fairytales really do exist!”
On Tuesday, Hilton also shared photos of the moment Zylka proposed -- as well as as her massive new diamond ring -- on Instagram.
On New Year's Eve, the two were spotted heading to the slopes, bundled up together for the cold.
Hilton and the Leftovers star have been dating since she connected with him at Art Basel in Miami over two years ago.
"He was showing his artwork there. And my brother said, ‘Oh, Chris Zylka’s here. He’s texting me.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God! Invite him right now,'" she shared with Ocean Drive magazine in November. "So he invited him over. We hung out and then just kept talking and talking, and then had a date in L.A., and ever since that night, we never left each other’s side."
ET spoke to the couple in May at the Race to Erase MS Gala in Los Angeles, when they hinted that an engagement was in their future.
"[We're] soulmates, for sure," Hilton gushed. "100 percent. ... [Being soulmates is] just being best friends and finally finding someone that I love and trust and know that I want to spend the rest of my life with. It's the best feeling in the world."
"You wake up with a smile and you fall asleep with a smile," Zylka, 32, said of life with the former reality star.
"Stay tuned [for the wedding]," she also said with a laugh.
"Stay tuned," Zylka echoed.
