Ryan Reynolds Reveals New 'Deadpool 2' Release Date With Epic Pic

By

There's no doubt that Wade Wilson loves The Golden Girls!

Ryan Reynolds revealed the new release date for Deadpool 2 on his Instagram on Thursday, paying homage to legendary actress Bea Arthur.

"May 18. #MaximumEffort," the 41-year-old actor wrote alongside a picture of two swords with the Golden Girls star's name on them.

In the comic books, Wilson is a big fan of The Golden Girls and Arthur. Reynolds went out of his way to include the actress in the first film, wearing a T-shirt with her likeness on it. The shirt is never specifically mentioned in the film, only to be spotted by the most dedicated fans.

The action sequel was originally set for a June 1 release, yet was moved up after Channing Tatum's Gambit movie lost its director, Gore Verbinski.

The new teaser trailer for Deadpool 2 was released in November, showing the comic book character dressed up as the late TV artist Bob Ross for a segment called "Wet on Wet."
