Rumored new couple composed of Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas are not helping dispel reports of a burgeoning romance. Ahead of Pia's planned performance on "Dancing With the Stars," Mark rested his fancy feet in the audience of "American Idol."

Wednesday's "Idol" opened with an eliminated contestant reunion. Among the group jamming to P!nk's "So What" was Pia, who proved she's "still a rock star," just like the song's lyrics.

Host Ryan Seacrest spotted the pro dancer in the crowd and asked who he thought should be deemed "American Idol." Throwing Ryan a "curveball," Mark went on the record as saying, "Casey [Abrams] is my favorite." The judges used their one allotted save early in the season to revive Casey, thus not able to prevent the shocking elimination of Pia in a later round.

Following the ambush, Mark tweeted, "ha ha thanks @RyanSeacrest for the shout out, and for putting me on the spot." He attended the show with dad Corky Ballas. Chelsea Kane, Mark's "DWTS" celeb partner, has been tweeting with Pia over the last few days.

Last night, Brooke Burke announced that Pia will provide the soundtrack for a routine performed by Mark and Karina Smirnoff on next Tuesday's "Dancing With the Stars" on ABC. Meanwhile, "American Idol" returns to Fox on Thursday night to eliminate yet another finalist.
