Report: Meredith Vieira Leaving 'Today' Show Early; Ann Curry to Replace

Meredith Vieira will reportedly relieve her duties as co-host of the "Today" show in June, with Ann Curry set to take over as co-host, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Subsequently, correspondent Natalie Morales will take over Curry's newsreader position, with an official announcement expected to arrive by next week.

Vieira had held the co-host chair beside Matt Lauer since 2006, when she took over for Katie Couric. According to sources, she had been contemplating her departure from "Today" before this latest development. Vieira still hosts "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and just recently produced her first film, 'Return,' but her move to leave the successful daytime news show appears to be for personal reasons.
