Jon Gosselin on 'Kate Plus 8' Cancellation

At least one person seems to be looking forward to the cancellation of TLC's hit show Kate Plus 8 - Kate Gosselin's ex-husband, Jon.

Jon reportedly broke his silence on the cancellation news in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, saying, "Contracts have to end at some point. I think everything had run its course and it was time to come to an end anyways."

In 2009, Jon was dropped from Jon & Kate Plus 8 just months after the couple separated. He currently lives near his ex-wife's home in a Pennsylvania apartment.

The 34-year-old dad seems to be concentrating on the bright side of the bittersweet situation, stating, "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."

The series finale of Kate Plus 8 will air September 12 on TLC.
