Ryan O'Neal On Why He Couldn't Do 'DWTS'

Actor Ryan O'Neal was tapped for the new season of Dancing with the Stars but had to bow out at the last minute and is now vowing to make a comeback in a future season.  

In a statement to ET, O'Neal's rep explained: "He had a knee replacement done a few months ago, and after the first rehearsal he realized that it wasn't 100 percent yet. He hopes to be able to do the show next season."

Ryan, 70, and his daughter Tatum, 47, recently teamed up for the OWN network's docu-series Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals, which follows the acting duo as they reclaim their relationship after over 25 years of estrangement.
