The always-colorful Nicki Minaj lent her talents tonight to the Idol stage, bringing the crowd to their feet with a rousing performance of her current smash hit, Starships. Additionally, season 10 winner Scotty McCreery marked his return to the show that made him a superstar singing Water Tower Town, from his platinum-certified debut album, Clear As Day.

While the night began with overwhelming praise for the final nine, Skylar Laine, Hollie Cavanagh and Heejun Han were ultimately revealed as the three contestants in jeopardy this week.

Although he survived a perilous elimination round last week, Heejun was told he would have to sing for his life this time around, opting to perform A Song for You by Leon Russell.

Once again, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson declined to use their power to save, effectively purging the 22-year-old from the competition.

"Let the record show that you knew this was coming," said Tyler after conferring with his peers on the judging panel. The Aerosmith frontman went on to praise Han for his efforts to improve before delivering the final blow.

"You knew what was coming up in the past and you took it up a couple notches. Unfortunately after talking, we're going to have to let you go man."
