Two short years ago, Dot Jones was making a living for herself in small roles on a smattering of television shows -- but now, she's a two-time Emmy nominee, one of Glee's most inspiring performers and guest-starring on tonight's all-new episode of The Exes!

"I love working in sitcoms," Jones tells ETonline. "I've done several over the years, from Roseanne to Married with Children, and it's just the best. Especially when you have a live audience there, that's so gratifying."

And her performance on The Exes, as a confident lesbian who hits on Kristen Johnston's character in a gay bar, left the audience in stitches! "There's a hilarious picture of us cheek to cheek," Jones laughs, adding, "I love Kristen. She's just so dang funny. This is the work I want to do more of. Working in the sitcom world would be a dream job."

This isn't to say she's ready to give up her gig on Glee -- especially since Jones just nabbed a second-straight Emmy nomination for her performance as football coach, Shannon Beiste.

"I still get emotional thinking about it now," Jones said of Choke, May's domestic violence episode she was nominated for. "I'm very proud of what I get to do, and more proud of what Ryan [Murphy, creator] trusts me with." Although it remains up in the air just how much Jones' character will factor into the split-up fourth season (half with Rachel and Kurt in NYC and half in McKinley). She tells ETonline, "The last I heard, I will be back in episode five. I don't know how many episodes I'll get to do this year. But I love being a part of that show."

In fact, the only group Jones loves as much as her Glee family is the company she's keeping in the Best Guest Actress in a Comedy category! "I don't even know if overwhelming describes it," she said of learning who her fellow nominees were. "To be among those women (Elizabeth Banks for 30 Rock, Kathy Bates for Two and a Half Men, Margaret Cho for 30 Rock, Melissa McCarthy for Saturday Night Live & Maya Rudolph for Saturday Night Live) is a dream."

As for Jones' pick, she says," I love Melissa. I love that woman," before quickly adding, "Of course I want to be beat her, but if I lose to Melissa McCarthy, I won't be devastated."

The Exes airs Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. on TV Land!
