ET caught up with Jason last Saturday at the "Everybody Loves to Laugh" event in Santa Monica, CA, where he spoke of present and future projects both in front of and behind the camera.
"I just finished one [film] called Lucky Stiff, it's kind of a strange movie musical…and [am] working on putting a pilot together, and some theater stuff. I'm directing Mike and Molly for a couple of weeks. It's busy."
Jason, who took the stage alongside comedy veterans Ray Romano, Cheryl Hines, and Wendy Liebman, discussed his growing interest in directing, stating he "[finds] it a little more engaging on a lot of different levels than just being the actor on the set."
"A lot of the roles that I see these days are not things that I personally find all that interesting. [But] even if you're working on something as a director that isn't the greatest piece of material you ever saw, it's so engaging…it's a great experience to do it regardless."
