'The Voice' Beats 'X Factor' In the Ratings
America has voted on their favorite singing show. The star power and stage talent of NBC's The Voice beat out the likes of FOX's The X Factor in the ratings on Wednesday night.
While X Factor pulled a rating of 6.1 at the 8-9 p.m. time slot, respectively, The Voice received an impressive 7.3.
In a surprising turn of events, Simon Cowell's new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato couldn't manage to draw as big an audience as Voice superstars Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and CeeLo Green, though they did beat out NBC's other reality competition series America's Got Talent at the 9 p.m. time.
Overall, X Factor's ratings are down 20% since the series opener, but on Wednesday, FOX still won the evening as the show rebounded in the 9 p.m. hour once The Voice concluded.
Spears and Cowell have been making the media rounds in promotion of the show. Just last night, the judges showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a hilarious chat that led to Spears referring to herself as "loony" and Cowell undressing.
