Christina Aguilera spouted out a lot of "real talk" during the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Conference on Thursday that included profanity-laden comments about American Idol judge Mariah Carey and X Factor creator (and former Idol judge) Simon Cowell.

The Voice team leader, 31, was quite vocal about her views of competitive singing shows, saying at the event, "I've not actually seen a full episode of any of the other music shows. I saw the commercials early on of American Idol of Simon being a dick. I was like, 'Man, that's not what it's about!'"

Cowell has since gone to X Factor where he judges alongside Aguilera's pop star peers Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. "I didn't want to treat people like that. I wanted to do The Voice to show that we can be positive. We don't have to knock people down," she explains. "Jennifer Hudson came from American Idol and went on to do Dreamgirls and won an Oscar. I know we all have different formats."

Aguilera, who is releasing her new album Lotus very soon, also called out comparisons to her and Mariah Carey. In talking about her song Beautiful, written by Linda Perry, she said the songwriter told her "'Don't do all that Mariah sh-' -- that was her, not me, I love that sh--! But she was like 'don't be doing all that acrobatic sh--, just sing!'"
