Fey: Jack & Liz Will Still Be Friends in 20 Yrs

With 30 Rock's final episode slated to air next Thursday, Tina Fey finds herself reflecting on her seven-year ride with the series and where she sees Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy in 20 years.

"I think they'll still be friends," Fey predicts of Liz and Jack (Alec Baldwin) come 2033. Rather than hashing out their problems with each other in a harried conversation, the 30 Rock star/creator sees a more subdued friendship in the twosome's future.

"I think they'll probably both have lifetime memberships to the Bronx Botanical Garden where they meet once a month to read the newspaper in silence," dreams Fey. "Or maybe that's my fantasy of what I want to do in 20 years."

As for the rest of her cast of colorful characters, Fey says she bid a surprisingly emotional farewell to Dr. Spaceman. The questionable physician (played by SNL alum Chris Parnell) quickly became one her favorites and, interestingly enough, the character almost didn't make it to air, let alone enjoy a recurring role for seven years.

"I still remember the moment that he was kind of born in the writers room," said Fey, remembering Spaceman as "just a dumb idea we had seven years ago" that, to everyone's surprise, became a hit.
