The announcement came soon after Bachelor Sean Lowe's search for love ended when the finally got down on one knee and proposed to his now-fiancee Catherine Giudici.

"I could only hope to have the love that (Sean and Catherine) have found," said Desiree, who was eliminated by Sean in week 8. "I'm very hopeful in all of this."

Desiree follows in the footsteps of Season 7's Emily Maynard, who was briefly engaged to contestant Jef Holm.
