While Zendaya nailed every step of her old-fashioned Jive number, Pickler's futuristic Jazz routine was a certified hit with the judges.

"Last week was a spark and this week was a fire," raved judge Len Goodman of the country star and partner Derek Hough's dizzying act.

With 16/30 points earned for his retro-inspired Cha-Cha-Cha, D.L. Hughley maintained his spot at the bottom of the pack alongside Dorothy Hamill, who took home a disappointing 15/30 points for her Jive.

The judges, while stingy with their numbers, gave Hughley huge props for his marked improvement.

"You still have a long ways to go but you're on the right track," remarked Carrie Ann Inaba.
