I don't know what Freud would say about this, but I'm infinitely more invested in any storyline on The Following when it directly involves Joe Carroll and his followers. And said attraction doesn't solely stem from the fact his cult is, basically, comprised of Abercrombie & Fitch models.
My unprofessional diagnosis would probably pinpoint an attraction to the unpredictability of unbalanced individuals embracing their Id. Or, ya know, the Abercrombie thing.
Whatever the cause, Kevin Williamson's serial killer thriller has had a profound effect on me -- particularly on Monday nights as I'm unable to fall asleep since visions of harpoon guns dance in my head.
Tonight The Following kicks off the countdown to their season finale (only 5 episodes remain) and ETonline's caught up with star James Purefoy to find out what we can expect! "We're going to see a very different side to [Joe]," the actor teased of upcoming eps.
"Something happens that tips him slightly over the edge. He's not going to be quite the same man we've seen before, which makes him much more unpredictable and infinitely more dangerous." For more from James, watch my interview with him above!
