Sharon Osbourne Addresses Divorce Rumors

Until now, Sharon Osbourne has remained silent amid recent reports that she had split from Ozzy Osbourne -- her husband of 31 years -- and after Ozzy subsequently admitted in a personal online statement that he had been struggling with sobriety over the past year and a half.

But speaking Tuesday on her daytime show The Talk, Sharon quashed divorce rumors -- as Ozzy previously had -- and said the recent speculative reports were false. "Everything that was printed in the tabloids has been distorted. The only thing that's true was the Facebook posting that my husband did," she said. "... And that he's been an a**hole and he's been in a very dark place. That's true. It's very true."

The Talk co-host confirmed her husband's recent sobriety issues, which she said she wasn't fully aware of. "He's been using alcohol and prescription drugs for the past year and a half. That's true. That's very true. Everybody knows he's been struggling with this his entire life," she said. "I never knew he was using prescription drugs. I knew he was drinking occasionally, but I didn't realize to the extent."

She emphatically stated the couple was "not getting divorced" and after much applause from the audience, elaborated further. "However, am I happy? No. Am I upset? Yes, I am. I'm devastated. It's a disease that not only hurts the person who has the disease but it hurts the family." She added, "We're dealing with it. We've dealt with worse ... This, too, shall pass."

In classic Sharon style, she humorously summed up the situation by adding, "Otherwise, my husband will be taken to hospital to get my foot removed from his ass."
