Kanye's Never-Before-Aired Comedy Leaks

Before he was playing dad and making waves with his controversial album like Yeezus, Kanye West thought he could be the next HBO comedy star. Five years later, we get a first look at his attempt to be "the black Larry David."

Writer/producer Larry Charles said in a 2008 interview of the rapper, "What Kanye West said to me the first time, he said, 'I'm the black Larry David.'"

David is the co-creator of Seinfeld and star of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. Charles added of the show that never made it to air, "It was really good, but again I think it was too hardcore for HBO."

In the four-minute video posted by actress Alison Quinn in her 2010 reel, a masked West shows up to surprise a kid who's in the Make-a-Wish program. The joke occurs when the boy reveals that he prefers Lil Wayne, R. Kelly and a few other rappers over the 36-year-old hip-hop artist (he even referring to his music as just "okay").

UPDATE: After this video made the rounds today, July 16, Quinn was asked by HBO to remove it, according to her YouTube channel.

This won't be West's last attempt at comedy. The rapper will reportedly make a cameo in Anchorman: The Legend Continues.
