Kristen Wiig's 10 Best 'Weekend Update' Creations

Kristen Wiig spent seven sublime years on Saturday Night Live. During that tenure, she created some of the show's most indelible and popular characters. At times this worked against her ("Another Gilly sketch?!?!" - me, every time a Gilly sketch aired), but for every unnecessary resurrection, Lorne Michaels let Wiig unleash dozens of insanely amazing creations -- especially during Weekend Update.

Wiig was as successful at creating popular characters in a shortened span of time as she was with an entire sketch to work with, and it's those women I'd like to celebrate today in honor of her 40th birthday.

So take a click down memory lane as I countdown my 10 Favorite Wiig Weekend Update Women!

10. Aunt Linda - Give this one 5 "Yeahhhhh's" and 1 "HUH?"

9. McCain Rally Lady - Nobody does crazy better than Kristen. Nobody.

8. Lana Del Rey - Wiig hilariously stood up for the previous week's guest following her internet drubbing.

7. "Tan Mom" Patricia Krentcil - "Toast." 'Nuff said.

6. Bjork - Spot-on impersonations were always a part of Wiig's repertoire and this is one of my favorites.

5. Barbie - A perfect example of how Wiig consistently used physicality to her advantage.

4. Paula Deen - Proves just how far Kristen will go for a laugh.

3. Garth & Kat - Yes, this bit got tired quickly but you have to applaud the audacity it takes to embark on an entirely improvised routine.

2. Rebecca Larue - Subtle? Nope! But when did we ever want subtlety from Miss Wiig?

1. Judy Grimes - The pinnacle of Wiig's abilities as a Weekend writer and performer. No kidding.
