We're still experiencing major radio silence surrounding production details from J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, but in the meantime, Star Wars Rebels is moving forward at light speed, and the new animated series from Lucasfilm has released a behind-the-scenes featurette packed with production art and an exclusive introduction of a brand-new villain -- the Empire's Inquisitor.

In the video, Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni officially reveals the character in the form of final art, design sketches and a sculpted maquette, explaining that The Inquisitor is "tasked by Darth Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi Knights."

Mining the talents of many of the artists who worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels takes place about 14 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, a time in which the Emperor's rule is secure and the Empire is seeking to expand its power to Outer Rim territories.
