The Pretty Little Liars Halloween episodes are always can't-miss TV events, but this year is more important than ever as it not only introduces the characters of Ravenswood, but expands upon the shocking finale cliffhanger that revealed Ezra to be on, or leading, The A Team!
"The response to that was ... Anthrax in envelopes," PLL executive producer Oliver Goldstick jokes about the strong fan reaction to the twist. "We knew it would be shocking, if not earth-shattering for fans, but when we start to unspool 4B, it's all going to make sense. And you're going to think, 'Oh my god, they had me again!'" Marlene King echoes Goldstick's sentiments, telling ETonline, "Ezria fans are so passionate and so dedicated and so upset right now, and I totally don't blame them. But at the same time, everything has a purpose; we don't do anything randomly, so I'm excited for the fans to see what we're really exploring with that storyline."
Another massive storyline that takes center stage in the Halloween episode, titled Grave New World, involves Ali's mortality, and the hour definitively answers whether or not she's alive. But in either case, that's just the beginning of the story. "Season 4B continues the theme of answers and everyone wants to know about the night Ali disappeared, so by the end, you'll know everything that happened that night," co-EP Joseph Dougherty reveals. "But we're also going to answer questions the fans haven't even thought to ask yet!"
For more on the looming answers, and what you can expect from PLL's Halloween episode, I caught up with Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson and the rest of the cast to get all the scary scoop!
