Full House favorite Lori Loughlin returns to television in Hallmark Channel's new series When Calls the Heart, a new period drama set in a northern-B.C. mining town during the late 19th century.

ET Canada was on the set to talk to the stars of the exciting new show, which is based on the beloved novels of Janette Oke, and deals with the aftermath of a horrific tragedy when many men are killed in a mine explosion, including Lori's character Elizabeth's husband.

But viewers shouldn't expect all doom and gloom -- Loughlin says the series is really about human triumph.

"It's really a story about triumph and women and people coming together -- the human condition," Lori says, "fighting for love & happiness."
