Eric died in a paragliding accident shortly after being eliminated from The Bachelorette. Last night's episode aired his emotional elimination, but in lieu of a rose ceremony, there was a six-minute Q&A between host Chris Harrison and Andi Dorfman, remembering Eric.
"It's kind of a fine balance, I think, for anybody to deal with a situation like this," Scott said. "I thought they did a fine job. I'd love to have an opportunity to sit down with Andi in person and kind of get her perspective off camera."
During the Q&A, Andi commented on the last conversation she had with Eric, which was combative and caused Eric to leave on bad terms.
"It's not ideally the last conversation I would want to have with somebody," Andi admitted.
According to Chris Harrison, critics of last night's episode might want to hold off judgment, as the show's timeline hasn't caught up with Eric's tragedy yet.
"After Eric said goodbye it felt hollow and a little callous and disrespectful and it just didn't feel right, so we went back and tried to figure out what did feel appropriate and it was to cut that out and to insert this interview, which we did just a few weeks ago, talking about Eric," said Harrison. "People also need to understand that this hasn't happened in the life of the show yet. He just left last night, but obviously he has not passed away. That won't happen for another couple weeks until we get to the hometown dates. We're still actually going to have to deal with his death and how it actually affected everybody on the show."
