Brian Williams Reports on Daughter Allison Williams' 'Peter Pan' Casting News

Brian Williams is one proud, yet professional, father.

During his NBC Nightly News broadcast on Wednesday, the 55-year-old anchor reported that his daughter Allison Williams would star as Peter Pan in NBC's forthcoming Peter Pan Live!

"Family members confirm that she's been rehearsing for this role since the age of three and they look forward to seeing her fly," Williams said as a childhood photo of the Girls star dressed as the fairy-tale character flashed across the screen. He never mentioned he was related to the actress, and remained completely professional. 

Williams' 26-year-old daughter reacted to the news earlier that day by posting the same Peter Pan kid pic on Instagram. She wrote: "Thrilled to be playing Peter Pan Live on NBC in December. I've been rehearsing for a REALLY long time."

Christopher Walken was also confirmed to play Captain Hook in the TV special.
