Days after Colin Farrell confirmed that he will be starring in the second season of HBO's True Detective, we now know who will play opposite him -- Vince Vaughn.
NEWS: The True Detective Casting Rumors
Colin and Vince will replace the first season's stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Like the first season, the second season will also play out in eight hour-long episodes. However, this season will feature three detectives and we're still anxiously awaiting the official casting announcement for those two roles, one of which is reportedly being considered by Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss. Production is set to begin in California later this fall.
Colin will play detective Ray Velcoro, whose allegiances are torn between the higher-ups in his corrupt police department and the mobster who controls him. Vince stars as career criminal Frank Semyon, who must navigate a web of conspiracy after the murder of a business partner, which derails his move into legitimate business.
In speaking with Ireland's Sunday World about the show's second season, Colin said that he knows "very little about it," but he estimated that it would "take around four or five months to shoot."
