ABC may be on the lookout for Rosie Perez's replacement.

There’s more drama on The View.

Just four months ago, Rosie Perez made her co-hosting debut on ABC’s daytime talker, but her time at the table may already be over. The White Men Can’t Jump actress, currently on a break while she rehearses for Larry David’s Broadway play Fish in the Dark, won’t be returning to the program, Variety reports.

ABC, meanwhile, is denying there is any such truth to the report.

“Rosie Perez is currently in rehearsal for her Broadway play for the month of January. Her status with the show has not changed,” a rep for The View said in a statement to ET. (Fish in the Dark is expected to run from Feb. 2 through June 7.)

While Variety stands by its reporting, one network source maintains that “the report is false.”

Another source believes that The View, which has seen its ratings slip since the new season began in September, is stalling because the network has yet to inform Perez – who signed a one-year deal – that she’s being dropped.

With a seat likely opening up on The View panel (which consists of Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg and Nicolle Wallace), sources tell ET that several of the finalists from the summer casting sessions – including several Latinas – will return as fill-in co-hosts in the coming weeks, though it is unclear whether a permanent replacement will come from the group.

ET
has confirmed with one Latina co-host contender that ABC has already booked dates for her to replace Perez at the table in late January.
