This marks the first reunion for the actor and Rhimes, who created the long-running medical soap Grey’s, on which Knight starred for five seasons as Dr. George O’Malley. Rhimes serves as an executive producer on The Catch.
“Happy indeed!” Knight, 43, wrote on Instagram celebrating the news.
Executive producer Allan Heinberg, who develop the mystery drama, welcomed Knight, with whom he worked on Grey’s.
“Very excited – and very lucky – to be working with my friend again,” he tweeted. “Welcome @TR_Knight to @ABC_The Catch.”

The Catch stars Mireille Enos as Alice Vaughan, a Los Angeles-based private investigator who falls victim of fraud by her fiance (Peter Krause). Sonya Walger, Jacky Ido, Rose Rolins, Alimi Ballard, Jay Hayden and Elvy Yost also star.
The Catch will be return midseason on ABC.
