From Dunder Mifflin to a dashing hero -- John Krasinski has officially signed up for his next TV show!

The Office alum will star in Amazon's upcoming series, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, the steaming service announced on Tuesday.

Krasinski is taking on the titular role as a CIA analyst on the up and up, who gets a dangerous field assignment for the first time after discovering a pattern in terrorist communication that puts him at the center of a dangerous plot that could spark global destruction.

Whew! That certainly sounds a lot more exciting than everything that was happening in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

"We're excited to add the Jack Ryan global franchise to our robust originals pipeline," Roy Price, head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement. "Our customers will enjoy a compelling adaptation of the action-packed spy thriller book series, further raising the bar for the quality level of storytelling that has made Prime Video a leading destination for content."

Of course, this isn't the first time that Jack Ryan has been brought to life from the pages of Clancy’s novels. The action-packed premise has spawned five films with Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine all playing the character on the big screen in various flicks.

As of now, no premiere date for Jack Ryan has been set, but the first season will consist of 10 episodes and will be produced by Paramount Television and Skydance Television.
