'The Affair': A Time Jump Only Makes Things Messier in New Season 3 Trailer -- Watch!

Showtime

If you think things were complicated last season, hold on tight!

The third season of The Affair is almost here, and if you think things were complicated last season, hold on tight!

While the Showtime drama's makeover includes a three-year time jump and the addition of a fifth perspective, the just-released trailer for the new season still promises drama, drama and more drama.

The show's fifth perspective will come from an entirely new character played by Irene Jacob, who will portray a new love interest for Noah (that's right, another one). But judging by the show's trailer, the addition of Jacob is just one of several shakeups this season.

When the show returns in November, Noah (Dominic West) is in jail for a crime he didn't commit, while his ex-wife Helen (Maura Tierney) defends his innocence to their daughter, Whitney, who doesn't know that it was actually her mom who murdered Scott. Cole (Joshua Jackson), meanwhile, is happily married and moving on from Alison (Ruth Wilson) while the two engage in a custody battle over their daughter, Joanie.

The drama of The Affair recently translated to real life for Wilson and Jackson, who became the subject of dating rumors following Jackson's split with longtime love Diane Kruger. Wilson, however, was quick to call the rumors nothing but "boring gossip."

"If you want an answer about whether we're dating or not, 'no' is the absolute truth," Wilson told Vanity Fair last month. "We all go out a lot. We're four Irish-Catholic actors who happen to be on a show together, and that means we like a drink and we like to have a good time. So all four of us go out."

The Affair returns Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
