It looks like big name actress is coming to This Is Us, but not as a guest star.
According to star Sterling K. Brown, Oscar winner Helen Hunt has joined the cast and crew behind the camera to direct the show's upcoming Christmas episode.
ET caught up with Brown at the GOOD+ Foundation's first-ever Halloween bash at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood on Sunday, where he shared the big news after being asked which upcoming This Is Us episode contained the hardest, most emotional scene to shoot.
"We're in the middle of shooting our Christmas episode right now and I had a scene on Friday night that started at 5pm and we didn't finish till around three in the morning and it was just one scene," Brown recounted.
"Helen Hunt is directing it. And it was quite extensive," Brown added. "That's all I can say about it."
Hunt, whose feature directorial debut, Ride, hit theaters in May 2015, has extensive experience directing for TV. She helmed several episodes of her hit sitcom Mad About You, as well as episodes of Californication, Revenge and House of Lies, among others.

From what Brown teased, the upcoming Christmas episode under her direction is set to be quite the emotional ride.
ET has reached out to NBC and 20th Century Fox TV for comment.
The Emmy-winning star also opened up about his personal connection with the acclaimed series, and it's themes of paternal loss. Brown told ET that his father died when he was "a young man," and shooting the series has been "strangely therapeutic." For more on the popular family drama, check out the video below.
