This is almost too exciting to be real!

Saturday Night Live is continuing what has arguably been their most solid season in years by announcing that Dave Chappelle will host the long-running comedy variety show on Nov. 12, with musical guest, A Tribe Called Quest.

This will be the 43-year-old comedian's first time hosting SNL, but fans have every reason to be excited, given his time on the critically acclaimed sketch comedy program, Chappelle's Show, which ran from 2003 - 2006 on Comedy Central before Chappelle decided to step away from public life for several years.

Meanwhile, A Tribe Called Quest is set to release their first album in 18 years -- We Got It From Here ... Thank You 4 Your Service. The record is sure to be emotional for followers of the hip-hop group, as this is also the first album since member Phife Dawg died this past March at age 45.

Understandably, people are going pretty bonkers over the upcoming show on social media, and SNL has been retweeting some of the celebratory messages about the booking.

Chappelle's hosting gig will follow this weekend's pre-election night show, hosted by Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch, with musical guest, Solange.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c.
