'Gilmore Girls' Star Matt Czuchry Reveals 'Bittersweet' Advice for Logan After Emotional Finale
Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven’t finished watching all four episodes of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Gilmore Girls star Matt Czuchry has some surprising advice for his character, Logan, following the shocking final scene.
In Netflix’s A Year in the Life, Logan and Rory (Alexis Bledel) engaged in a secret “friends with benefits” relationship -- only Logan was engaged to Odette, often mentioned but never seen, and Rory was with Paul, her forgettable boyfriend. At the end of the revival, Rory revealed to her mother, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), that she was pregnant.

Though the father of Rory’s unborn child remains a mystery, it’s been speculated that Logan may very well be the dad. Czuchry shared the one piece of advice he’d give Logan following that emotional cliffhanger.
“Don’t marry Odette,” he said during a Facebook Live chat on Thursday. “Chase down Rory. Make that work. She is the love of your life. Odette, I always kind of looked at as part of his family obligations, so I would say, if I could give Logan one piece of advice, it would be to chase down Rory. Follow his heart.”
When asked how Logan would react if he learned that Rory was with child, Czuchry was coy.
“That’s a question that I can’t really answer,” he said with a chuckle. “Those four words obviously impact someone and it was left open, so I’ll leave that for [executive producers] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] and Dan [Palladino] to say who is the father of that child.”

“Logan will always love Rory for the rest of his life, and that’s why they can’t quit each other,” Czuchry said of Rory and Logan’s romance. “From Rory’s perspective, I’d like to say that she feels comfortable with Logan. She can call him up when she’s going through a difficult time. She knows that he’ll provide for [her].”
In the final installment, Logan and Rory seemingly broke things off after they had one last evening of debauchery with the Life and Death Brigade.
“What I loved was that goodbye,” Czuchry said. “The ending between Rory and Logan was incredibly bittersweet. I think Amy and Dan did a beautiful job writing that.”

“I loved the Life and Death Brigade,” he added. “That whole ‘Fall’ experience was the best of Logan, the best of Rory and the best of them together.”
Bledel opened up to ET about Rory and Logan’s complicated relationship in the revival at the Year in the Life premiere in November, admitting that their adulterous romance surprised her.
“I think it's a little uncomfortable for [Rory] even though she's kind of putting on a brave face that she's fine with it. I think she's actually not that emotionally connected to it,” Bledel confessed. “I think she's kind of just going through the motions at this point when we pick up with them."
