It has been reported that Big Bang stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar would take pay cuts so co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauchcould receive raises.
The future of TV’s top-rated broadcast comedy had been in limbo, as the actors’ current contracts only ran through the end of the current 10th season. Back in August, CBS President Glenn Gelleraddressed the show’s future, saying the network was bullish on continuing Big Bang for the foreseeable future.
“We are very confident that everyone wants Big Bang past year 10 and I know Warner Bros. [TV] will make those deals,” Geller said at the time.
Days after Geller’s statements, the cast took group selfies to kick off the start of production on season 10, amid reports that the current season may be its last.
Thankfully, we won’t have to say goodbye to the original Big Bang gang for at least another two years!
Recently, CBS ordered Young Sheldon, a half-hour comedy about a young Sheldon Cooper that will be narrated by Parsons, for the 2017-18 TV season. For more, watch ET’s exclusive interview with Parsons below.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
