'This Is Us' Gave This Child Star a Shout-Out and He Had the Perfect Response

Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven't watched Tuesday's episode of This Is Us. If you have, read our recap, then come on back...

This Is Us wrecked us all with a doozy of an episode on Tuesday, chronicling Jack's last day alive. But there were also several memorable moments that brought some much-needed levity to an otherwise heavy hour.

One moment in particular stood out from the episode. It involved Kate (Chrissy Metz) visiting the rescue shelter, where she fell in love with an adorable puppy named Audio. During the scene, Kate dropped a reference comparing the sweet pup's innocent looks to a charming young up-and-coming actor.

"Crazy cute, like, if Jacob Tremblay was a dog cute," Kate said.

Well, Tremblay -- who broke through in 2015's Room -- took notice, tweeting about the show's tribute to him in the cutest way possible: "Thx for the shout-out tonight, but we all know I can't compete with Audio's cuteness."

One of the This Is Us kids, Parker Bates, who plays young Kevin, responded to Tremblay's tweet, proving just how lovely the entire cast is.

To which Tremblay replied with the cutest response:

We're totally here for the This Is Us lovefest!

Other pop culture references from the episode included the Property Brothers, Seinfeld, Titanic, Fixer Upper (sort of; we're counting Jack and Rebecca dreaming of fixing up houses together as a wink and a nod to the show) and Sonic the Hedgehog, just to name a few.

This Is Us will air its special Super Bowl episode on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 10:15 p.m. ET/7:15 PT (tentative) on NBC. The cast will also appear on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon live from Minneapolis, Minn., at 11:50 p.m. ET/8:50 p.m. PT (tentative).
