The 36-year-old comedian debuts the first trailer for her upcoming movie, I Feel Pretty, on Thursday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she portrays Renee Barrett, a woman who is struggling with her self-esteem because she obsesses about outward beauty. "I've always wondered what it would feel like to be undeniably pretty," she says.
When Renee hits her head after falling off a bike at SoulCycle, her dream comes true when she suddenly sees herself as drop-dead gorgeous.
She then takes her newfound confidence to the streets and finds love and a few friends along the way. In one funny moment, Renee is completely naked in front of her beau (Rory Scovel), and declares, "I thought you would want a sneak peek of what's to come."
Her guy hilariously responds, "I don't think you know what sneak peek means. You're completely naked."
The comedy also stars supermodel Emily Ratajkowski and Naomi Campbell as well as Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams, who fans may not immediately recognize with her long hair.
In her real life, Schumer has always exuded confidence and made light of the body shaming she sometimes endures.
"We're so blessed with the internet that people give you constant feedback on your looks," she quipped while on Jimmy Kimmel Livethis past October. "[It's] such a cool time. Thank each and every one of you for all your feedback on my face and body."
