Producer Michael Shure told fans on Friday that NBC has resurrected the series following its cancellation by Fox earlier in the week.

The Nine-Nine is back for season six!

Following its cancellation by Fox after five seasons earlier this week, Brooklyn Nine-Nine executive producer Michael Schur tweeted on Friday that NBC had picked up the beloved cop comedy for a sixth season.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Season 6. NBC," Schur shared. "This happened because the fans of the show went berzerk. We can't thank you -- or @NBC -- enough. #Brooklyn99."

"Hey everyone, just wanted to say no big deal but.... NBC JUST PICKED #BROOKLYN99 UP FOR SEASON 6!!!" added creator Dan Goor. "Thanks in no small part to you, the best fans in the history of the world! Nine-nine!!!!!!!!!"

The stars of the show, including Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Chelsea Peretti, Stephanie Beatriz and more were also quick to tweet their excitement about returning for another season of the Nine-Nine.

The outcry for Nine-Nine's pickup came loud and strong from its legion of devoted fans, some of which included A-list celebs in their own right. Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro,  Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda and Star Wars legend Mark Hamill all issued personal pleas following Fox's cancellation announcement.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine has given us fully human characters, beautiful, powerful, flawed, vulnerable, majestic," del Toro tweeted. "In whichever form, B99 must return. It will. And I will be there to watch. And, it is my hope that I hope that, this time, a lot more people do too."

"RENEW BROOKLYN NINE NINE," Miranda added. "I ONLY WATCH LIKE 4 THINGS THIS IS ONE OF THE THINGS."
