Cara Delevingne's $7 Million Home Catches on Fire as Crews Battle Blaze For Hours

The model-actress' massive property in Studio City, California, caught fire just before 4 a.m. PT.

Cara Delevingne's home went up in flames early Friday morning, which triggered a massive response from firefighters and resulted in one person being treated for smoke inhalation.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department tells ET that the model-actress' home in Studio City, California, went up in flames just before 4 a.m. PT, and the flames were so intense it required 94 firefighters and more than two hours to extinguish the flames. The LAFD says "firefighters arrived to find a 6,650 square foot two-story home built in 1971, with heavy fire in the rear, which consumed one room in the rear and developed into a deep-seated attic fire."

"Crews confirmed all occupants were out of the home, and then pulled back into defensive mode due to the long duration of heavy fire exposing the structural members," the spokesperson continued. "The house subsequently sustained a roof collapse, as firefighters continued to apply hose streams from the exterior. Ultimately, it took 94 firefighters two hours and 16 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames."

The spokesperson added that one firefighter was transported to a hospital in fair condition, and one occupant sustained minor smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

According to TMZ, who was first to report the news, four ambulances also responded to the scene. The 31-year-old actress-model was not home, and was photographed in England on Thursday after performing at Playhouse Theater.

Shortly after this story was published, Delevingne took to her Instagram Stories and posted a photo of her two cats and appeared to be mourning their loss. She later set the record straight and said her cats are alive thanks to the firefighters.

As for more details about Delevingne's home, the Los Angeles Times reported in 2021 that she bought the 8,000 square foot mansion for $7 million back in 2019. TMZ reports that the home also has a ton of history, as it was originally built in 1941 by the family that founded the Vons supermarket chain, the Von der Ahes.

Delevingne purchased the Studio City residence after listing the 4,000 square foot home she bought with her sister, Poppy Delevingne, from Jared Leto.

Nearly a year ago, Delevingne opened up about her wellbeing in an eye-opening interview with Vogue, saying that if she continued "to go down the road I was, I would either end up dead or, like, doing something really, really stupid," which was likely in reference to being photographed shoeless at a Los Angeles airport in September 2022.

"I hadn’t slept. I was not OK," she recalled to Vogue. "It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point it was like, OK, I don't look well."

By the time she conducted her Vogue interview in late January 2023, she had reached four months of sobriety after checking into rehab in late 2022 and committing to a 12-step program.

"This process obviously has its ups and downs, but I've started realizing so much," she said. "People want my story to be this after-school special where I just say, 'Oh look, I was an addict, and now I'm sober and that’s it.' And it's not as simple as that. It doesn’t happen overnight."
