Chrishell Stause Is 'Devastated,' Moves Out of Home Shared With Justin Hartley

Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley's divorce drama continues.

Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley's divorce drama continues.

On Tuesday, Stause responded to Hartley's petition for divorce and filed for dissolution of marriage citing irreconcilable differences. However, she listed a different date of separation than Hartley. While the This Is Us star listed their separation date as July 8, 2019, in Stause's filing, she listed the date as Nov. 22, 2019 -- the day Hartley filed for divorce after two years of marriage.

Interestingly enough, the two still very much appeared to be together after July 8, for example, when they posed on the red carpet together at the 10th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles on Oct. 5. A source tells ET that 38-year-old Stause was blindsided by 42-year-old Hartley's divorce filing.

"Chrishell is still shocked that Justin filed for divorce and is devastated how everything is unraveling," the source says. "Chrishell signed up for a marriage, to work through things and fight for their love, but she feels Justin has just given up."

According to the source, Stause and Hartley's marriage definitely changed after his breakout role in NBC's hit drama This Is Us. Stause and Hartley were both more known for their work in soap operas before his big break.

"Justin loves Chrishell, but people close to the couple feel he’s choosing his career path over their marriage," the source says. "Justin is finally getting his big break in Hollywood and it’s completely changed him and how he treated his marriage."

Another source tells ET, that Stause "has moved out of the home she shared with her estranged husband."

"Chrishell is a real estate agent, so finding a place of her own wasn’t hard, but moving out was," the source says. "Chrishell still loves Justin but knew getting out of the family home was for the best. Chrishell is still very upset, but trying to stay strong and has the help of her friends and family.

"Although hard, Chrishell has taken off her wedding ring," the source adds.

Late last month, a source told ET that Stause and Hartley's friends were also "completely shocked" by his decision to file for divorce.

"The couple has always been incredible, with no signs of things being on the rocks," the source said. "Friends are speculating this was an impulse on Justin’s side due to something that happened, and are hopeful the couple can work things out."

However, after Stause's filing on Tuesday, the two reconciling doesn't appear likely. Hartley has also been spotted no longer wearing his wedding ring.

Hartley and Stause have yet to directly address their split. But on Monday, Stause posted a cryptic quote on Instagram which read, "It's hard to watch people change right in front of you. But it's even harder remembering who they used to be."
