Colton Haynes is set to return to Arrow as a series regular in the CW superhero show’s upcoming seventh season, reprising his role as the street-savvy Glades native, who later became the Arrow’s sidekick, Arsenal.

“We’re very fortunate and excited to welcome back Colton to Arrow,” said the series’ executive producers in a statement. “While we’ve always enjoyed Colton’s returns to the show, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular and we’re very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper’s return affords us.”

“I could not be happier to return to my role as Roy Harper alongside my Arrow family,” Haynes added

The Teen Wolf alum, who made his first appearances in Arrow’s first season, before being promoted to series regular for seasons two and three, reprised his role in the DC series’ current sixth season, when an enemy of the Green Arrow took him hostage to use as bait against the vigilante hero’s team.

His most recent appearance came in the March 29 episode, "The Thanatos Guild," when Roy agreed to accompany Thea (Willa Holland) around the world to destroy the remaining Lazarus Pits. The episode marked Holland’s final episode on Arrow.

It’s been an emotional year for Haynes, who wed celebrity floral designer Jeff Leatham in October. The 29-year-old actor recently mourned the death of his mother, Dana Mitchell, after announcing she was suffering from advanced cirrhosis of the liver and kidney failure.

“Words can't express how incredible this woman was,” Haynes shared in a series of Instagram tributes. “I have so many things to say but I'm in a state of shock. I will always love you momma.”
