Coree Moreno Reveals How He Gets Zendaya and Chase Infiniti's Hair to 'Perform' All Day Long
Working overtime! Celebrity hairstylist Coree Moreno sat down with ET to reveal how he keeps Zendaya, Chase Infiniti, and Cynthia Erivo's luscious locks picture-perfect from morning to night.
And for Moreno, every strand has to work just as hard as the A-list actresses.
"When I'm creating a red-carpet or editorial look, I'm thinking about silhouette, movement, proportion, and how the hair is going to interact with the entire image," the hair guru explains.
"With someone like Zendaya or Chase Infiniti, the day can be incredibly long with fittings, glam, multiple outfit changes, carpets, press, and cameras. The hair has to perform. It has to survive the reality of the day while still looking like the original vision," he adds.
To make sure a style can keep up, Moreno turns to Bellami's products, including the next evolution of its bestselling Flex Weft, the Flex Weft 2.0.
"Extensions are really another medium for me. I don't look at them simply as a way to add length or volume. I look at them as a way to build architecture into the hair. … Extensions give me the freedom to take the natural hair somewhere it couldn’t necessarily go on its own while still making the final result feel intentional and believable," he says.
"My work is very movement-driven, so I’m always looking for extensions that can become part of the hair rather than looking like something that was simply added to it."
From adding fullness to creating shape, Moreno uses every extra inch to help pull the whole style together.
"With clients like Zendaya, Chase Infiniti, Cynthia Erivo, or Lil Nas X, the hair has to contribute to the storytelling. … I'm always chasing the moment where the hair feels almost effortless. It can be highly constructed, but it shouldn't look rigid. It should have movement, softness, and life," he notes.
But even the most camera-ready creation has to feel good once the glam chair is gone.
"For me, comfort and wearability are part of the artistry. When a client feels good in the hair, you can see it in the way they carry themselves, and that ultimately makes the image more powerful. … On camera, especially with HD and flash photography, you can't hide anything. The hair has to move naturally, blend beautifully, and maintain its integrity from every angle. For me, that's where a great extension really proves itself."
