Corey Feldman says he was the victim of a brutal attack.
A spokesperson for the LAPD confirms to ET that there was an incident on Tuesday involving Feldman.
“At about 10:45 pm officers from the LAPD West Valley Division received a radio call that was generated from a local hospital of an assault with a deadly weapon. Mr. Corey Feldman stated that he was driving his vehicle with a passenger when he had stopped at a stop light," the spokesperson said.
"At that point, an unknown person or suspect opened his driver side door and jabbed Mr. Feldman abdomen with an unknown object. Mr. Feldman self-transported himself to the local hospital where he was treated and released from the hospital.”
“There was no indication of a laceration to Mr. Feldman’s abdomen and any other injuries were unknown at that time. There is no suspect description and no weapon description at this point," the spokesperson added.
A rep for Feldman tells ET, “He was attacked with a long sharp object. They weren’t sure what it was, we think it was a syringe possibly. He has been tested to see if he has been injected with a poison or a virus something along those lines. He’s home now sleeping. There were three men that came at him when he and his security guard were stopped in their car. “
Feldman’s lawyer, Perry Wander, tells ET that the incident could be the result of road rage.
“[Corey] was driving in the Valley, three Hispanics in a white car that we think is a Mercedes, jumped out of the car at a stop light and attempted to instigate a fight with Mr. Feldman’s security guard who was driving," Wander says. "The security guard got out of the car and became distracted when one of the other men circled around towards the passenger side of the vehicle, opened the door and attacked Mr. Feldman with a sharp object. Because it was dark and happened quickly and suddenly, it’s not clear exactly what it [the object] was, but it did cause an abrasion and bleeding not a stab wound."
"The LAPD interviewed the security guard who corroborated what happened," Wander adds. "They [LAPD] took finger prints off the vehicle, took a DNA swab and had a police photographer photograph the wound. My client was in the hospital this morning and was pretty drowsy because he was on a sedative, but he’s back home with his wife and he’s feeling very paranoid about what happened, but it looks as if it was a road rage type of incident."
The 46-year-old actor took to Twitter on Wednesday to share photos of himself in a hospital bed, wearing a gown.
“I'M IN THE HOSPITAL! I WAS ATTACKED 2NITE! A MAN OPENED MY CAR DOOR AND STABBED ME W/ SOMETHING!” he captioned the pics. “PLEASE SAY PRAYERS 4 US! THANK GOD IT WAS ONLY MYSELF and MY SECURITY IN THE CAR, WHEN 3 MEN APPROACHED! WHILE SECURITY WAS DISTRACTED, W/ A GUY A CAR PULLED UP AND ATTACKED! I’M OK!”
Feldman claimed that the LAPD were investigating the incident as “an attempted homicide.” The Goonies star said he’s had increasing threats on his social media accounts from a “vile ‘wolfpack’” and thinks they’re responsible for the reported incident.
He goes on to say that though there were supposedly three men at the scene, only one attacked him.
