<p><a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/meryl-streep" rel="" target="_blank">Meryl Streep</a> almost lost out on one of her most iconic roles. In a recent podcast interview, Wendy Finerman, the producer of <em>The Devil Wears Prada</em>, shared that not everyone wanted the Oscar winner for the legendary role of Miranda Priestly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Anne, we knew is a good every girl. She really is. She went to Vasser. She's a real All-American girl," Finerman said of star <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/anne-hathaway" rel="" target="_blank">Anne Hathaway</a> on the <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hollywood-gold/id1646283677" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Hollywood Gold</em></a> podcast. "And Meryl, people thought we were crazy. I had people call me up and say, 'Are you out of your mind? She's never been funny a day in her life.' She has been funny, and they were wrong. But this was clearly a different kind of world for her. I think that that was part of the fun of the unexpected of seeing her amidst in outfits."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Finerman added that Streep had previously comedic acting credits, specifically citing her role in the 1992 film&nbsp;<em>Death Becomes Her</em>, which also starred Goldie Hawn.&nbsp;</p>

Co-stars Hathaway and <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/emily-blunt" rel="" target="_blank">Emily Blunt</a> recently reunited for <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skMFBH0a6yw" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Variety</em>'s Actors on Actors</a> segment where they discussed working with Streep on the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I remember Meryl coming up with like 18 different lines on the spot, Stanley [Tucci] doing the same, you, and I was just, like, this kindergartener," Hathaway quipped, referencing Streep's ability to adlib now-famous lines from the movie.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>The Devil Wears Prada </em>was nominated for two Oscars, including one for Best Actress for Streep.&nbsp;</p>

Meryl Streep Nearly Lost 'Devil Wears Prada' Role For This Reason 

<p><a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/julia-roberts" rel="" target="_blank">Julia Roberts</a> is now an on-screen legend, playing some of the most memorable leading ladies in recent film history. But the 56-year-old Oscar winner wasn't always the first pick for some of her more memorable roles.</p>

<p>While on Thursday's episode of&nbsp;<em>Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen</em>, a caller asked Roberts if she regretted passing up any roles in her career.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"None that I have regrets about, 'cause I think it's all kind of destiny," she explained, but added that two big parts she passed on were in <em>You've Got Mail</em> and <em>The Last of the Mohicans</em>&nbsp;-- presumably in the roles that went to Meg Ryan and Madeleine Stowe, respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"There are things that you don't get, like Meg Ryan was supposed to be in <em>Steel Magnolias</em>, and she was still filming <em>When Harry Met Sally</em> and so I got that part," Roberts reflected. "Cate Blanchett was supposed to be in <em>Closer</em> but then she got pregnant so I got that part. So I've lucked into some good stuff."</p>

<p>Roberts played the optimistic diabetic Shelby in 1989's <em>Steel Magnolias</em> opposite Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Olympia Dukakis, and Shirley MacLaine. The role earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.&nbsp;</p>

Julia Roberts Says Meg Ryan Almost Played Her Role in ‘Steel Magnolias’ and More Casting Secrets

<p>She may have her drivers license, but <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/olivia-rodrigo" rel="" target="_blank">Olivia Rodrigo</a> is still figuring out social media. The 20-year-old "Vampire" singer was a guest on <em>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon</em> on Thursday, and opened up about an embarrassing and very relatable story involving Instagram.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I try to follow zero people because it helps me be off of my phone," she said of her Instagram account, which boasts more than 35 million followers. "But it was very embarrassing encounter once where I was stalking my ex -- as one does, sue me -- and I accidentally followed him because I was stalking him. And I was just following one person so it was super obvious that I was following him."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though she didn't name the ex in question while telling the story, eagle-eyed fans remembered that back in July, Rodrigo followed her ex and former <em>High School Musical: The Musical: The Series</em> co-star,&nbsp;<a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/joshua-bassett" rel="" target="_blank">Joshua Bassett</a>, claiming at the time that she was hacked.&nbsp;</p>

And I went to open the Instagram app and the second that I opened the app my phone died," Rodrigo recalled. "And I didn't have my charger, so I was just following my ex for a while. People were like, 'Oh my gosh, she's hacked!' And I'm like, 'Yeah, you guys, be safe!'"</p>

<p>As for how she manages social media mishaps these days, Rodrigo assured Fallon, "I have a Finsta [fake Instagram] now, so I'm safe."&nbsp;</p>

Olivia Rodrigo Recalls Accidentally Following Her Ex on Instagram and Fans Think It’s Joshua Bassett

<p>Taylor and Gabriella forever! <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/vanessa-hudgens" rel="" target="_blank">Vanessa Hudgens</a> recently <a href="https://www.etonline.com/inside-vanessa-hudgens-and-cole-tuckers-wedding-in-the-mayan-jungle-216069" rel="" target="_blank">tied the knot</a> with MLB pro&nbsp;<a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/cole-tucker" rel="" target="_blank">Cole Tucker</a> in the Mayan jungle and she got some support from several of her East High Wildcats.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>High School Musical</em> co-stars Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel were on hand for the nuptials, which took place on Dec. 2 in Tulum, Mexico, at the Azulik City of Arts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Coleman -- who played Taylor McKessie, the brainiac bestie to Hudgens' Gabriella Montez, in the Disney films -- took to Instagram to share a sweet video of her time at the wedding.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Congrats @vanessahudgens &amp; @cotuck 😭💍 Your love is the stuff of fairytales" the 43-year-old actress captioned the video, which featured herself and the 34-year-old bride jumping up and down together on the beach.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the clip, she also poses with 39-year-old Grabeel, who played drama king Ryan Evans, for the couple's big day. For the exotic wedding, Coleman wore a shimmery bandeau top and matching skirt, while Grabeel sported an eggplant-colored suit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hudgens played the academic-turned-performer Gabriella in all three of the <em>HSM</em> films opposite her on-screen love interest, Zac Efron. The co-stars also dated for several years in real life, but split up in 2010.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The day before, Coleman posted a pic at the <em>Elle</em> Women in Hollywood gala alongside fellow <em>HSM</em> alum, Ashley Tisdale.</p>

<p>Tisdale, also a longtime pal of Hudgens', was not seen at the wedding.&nbsp;</p>

"I am so grateful that we got to have a private wedding, and it helped that I took everyone's phones away. It was amazing because at the dinner, I would look around and everyone was talking to each other -- our family and friend groups coming together and creating real relationships that I know they’re going to invest real time into."</p>

<p>Days after the event, ET spoke with Shipp about being a bridesmaid.&nbsp;</p>

'High School Musical' Stars Attend Vanessa Hudgens' Wedding

<p>New Year's Eve is going to be rockin' this year!</p>

<p>On Wednesday, ABC announced the performer lineup for the upcoming&nbsp;<em>Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve</em> show, which takes place every year on Dec. 31 and runs into the New Year. Longtime host&nbsp;<a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/ryan-seacrest" rel="" target="_blank">Ryan Seacrest</a>&nbsp;is returning alongside three co-hosts.</p>

<p>Seacrest will be in New York City's Times Square with singer <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/rita-ora" rel="" target="_blank">Rita Ora</a>. The show will also be broadcast from Hollywood, California, with TV personality <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/jeannie-mai" rel="" target="_blank">Jeannie Mai</a>&nbsp;hosting on that coast.&nbsp;And presenter Dayanara Torres is returning to co-host from Puerto Rico.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Coming off the success of Greta Gerwig's hit <em>Barbie</em> movie, the '90s group Aqua is singing their 1997 classic, "Barbie Girl" as well as their song, "Doctor Jones."</p>

Bebe Rexha, Reneé Rapp, Green Day and More to Perform on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2024

<p><em><a href="http://www.etonline.com/tv/and-just-like-that" rel="" target="_blank">And Just Like That</a></em>, fans have another season to look forward to of the show. Max announced in August that its <em>Sex and the City</em> reboot, <em>And Just Like That</em>, has been renewed for season 3. And on Wednesday, the streaming service announced that the show won't be returning until 2025 in a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6yoTKa58Qw" rel="" target="_blank">new montage clip</a> promoting the upcoming third season.&nbsp;</p>

<p>None of the footage from the show was new as the cast and crew have seemingly not returned to record the hit show just yet, but fans are keen to get a resolution to the season 2 storylines.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the wake of that <a href="https://www.etonline.com/and-just-like-that-season-2-finale-recap-carrie-and-aidans-fate-is-confusing-210287" rel="" target="_blank">confusing season 2 finale</a>&nbsp;--&nbsp;where Carrie Bradshaw (<a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/sarah-jessica-parker" rel="" target="_blank">Sarah Jessica Parker</a>) and Aidan Shaw (<a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/john-corbett" rel="" target="_blank">John Corbett</a>) say their goodbyes for <em>five years</em>&nbsp;and Samantha Jones (<a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/kim-cattrall" rel="" target="_blank">Kim Cattrall</a>) makes her triumphant return to the franchise for a brief cameo -- fans have some questions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Showrunner and executive producer Michael Patrick King shared the news of the show's renewal, stating, "We are thrilled to spend more time in the<i>&nbsp;Sex and the City</i>&nbsp;universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors. <em>And Just Like That</em>… here comes season 3.”</p>

<p><b>Premiere Date</b></p>

<p>The exact premiere date for season 3 of <em>And Just Like That</em> is currently unknown, but following the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/how-the-2023-sag-aftra-strike-is-affecting-hollywood-from-delayed-releases-to-empty-sets-208061" rel="" target="_blank">SAG-AFTRA and Writers' Guild strikes</a>, there's been a delay in production. Season 1 aired in late 2021 and season 2 premiered in August 2023, leaving more than a year gap between the two installments.</p>

<p>Max announced in December that the show would be returning in 2025 in a promotional clip for several of its shows.</p>

<p>"I don't think I'll ever say goodbye to Samantha," she said. "She's like a lot of other characters that I've done over the years. I get very emotionally attached and protective of my characters. She gave me so much, and I'm so appreciative of her."&nbsp;</p>

<p>When asked if she'd return for a potential season 3, Cattrall replied, "That's as far as I'm going to go."</p>

<p><b>Will Carrie and Aidan Stay Together?</b></p>

<p>King adds, "You would only say that if you're already going, 'It's not gonna be five years.' She's very cute, but she does go on to say, 'There will be others.'"&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though the ultimate fate of the couple is unknown, Parker did discuss the idea of bringing more of Carrie's exes back to the franchise while speaking with ET ahead of the season 2 premiere.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"There's not just one borough in New York, there are a lot of boroughs. And there's a lot of interesting people in New York and specifically, there's a lot of interesting men and I would think that Carrie is still curious enough to want to know what else is out there."</p>

'Sister Wives' Star Christine Brown Says She's 'More Independent' Than Ever in Monogamous Relationship

<p>On Wednesday night's <em>The</em>&nbsp;<em>Masked Singer</em>, 55-year-old Bach, an original member of Skid Row, was unmasked as Tiki, verifying judge Nicole Scherzinger's guess after his performance of "I Was Made for Loving You."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for why he chose to appear on the hit music competition show, Bach said, "Well, you know your show's been on for 10 seasons which is a long time. And this show's about singing, which I love."</p>

'Gilmore Girls' Alum Revealed on 'The Masked Singer' as Tiki

<p><a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/halle-berry" rel="" target="_blank">Halle Berry</a> is getting candid about her "rocky start" collaborating with <a href="http://www.etonline.com/people/angelina-jolie" rel="" target="_blank">Angelina Jolie</a> and how they eventually "bonded."</p>

<p>In a new interview with <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/global/halle-berry-directing-angelina-jolie-maude-v-maude-1235824319/" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Variety</em></a>, the 57-year-old Oscar winner talks about the upcoming film <em>Maude v Maude</em>, which she is co-starring and co-producing with 48-year-old Jolie.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The movie, which was described as <em>Mr &amp; Mrs Smith</em> meets <em>Mission: Impossible</em> with a comedic twist, will take the two women all over the world.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Berry said she's looking forward to taking on Jolie "physically and intellectually" in the film, but admits that their initial interactions weren't exactly smooth sailing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We had a rocky start and I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together," Berry shares.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While she wouldn't reveal exactly what led to their bumpy beginnings, Berry says fans will have to wait to hear that story, but promises that it's a "good one."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It's part of what happened after my divorce. I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I will move when I can," Jolie said of leaving Los Angeles. "I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity."</p>
