Drake's Throwback Taylor Swift Photo Sparks Collaboration Rumors

The rumors started after Drake shared a throwback of him and Swift on Instagram Monday.

Could there be music on the way from Drake and Taylor Swift? Drake and the "All Too Well" singer sparked collab rumors after the "Fair Trade" rapper took to Instagram Monday to share a few photos -- one of which saw him hugging Swift.

"They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work," Drake captioned the slideshow, which included various photos of the rapper, as well as a pic of his 4-year-old son, Adonis.

The internet quickly reacted to the pic and the possibility of a Drake-Swift mashup, with one fan tweeting, "All I'm asking for is a Taylor Swift x Drake collab," and another writing, "Taylor Swift and Drake will never beat collab allegations."

"Remember there were rumors about Drake x Taylor Swift during the 1989 era? What if the song is in the vault tracks?" a different tweet read.

While Drake's caption left much to the imagination, ET has learned that the photo of the pair is in fact old, and that there is no collab on the way from the superstars.

This isn't the first time the pair has sent the internet into a frenzy. Rumors about a potential romance between the two were fueled in 2016 after Drake shared photos of him and Swift from his 30th birthday party.

One of the pics, taken of the stars from behind, shows Drake standing next to Swift, who's wearing a sexy black crop top and matching pencil skirt. "Is that velvet?" the caption reads, referring to the rapper's blazer.

While those also appeared to be nothing but rumors, their paths continued to cross. That same year, Swift fell off a treadmill in an ad for Apple Music while rapping Drake and Future's "Jumpman." In a separate commercial for Apple Music, Drake then danced to Swift's hit, "Bad Blood."
