Initially, fashion design was Melissa's calling. McCarthy recently revealed plans to start a plus-size clothing line, but not many know that she went to college with the intention to become a designer, but dropped out after only a few years of study.

"I went to college for clothing and textiles and I always thought I would do women's clothing," she explains. "I moved to New York to go to FIT and I'd already done two years of school and ended up starting stand-up instead of continuing school."

"I'm kind of going back to what I always did," said Melissa of her new fashion venture. "I've always loved it, I've always been obsessed by it and I'm just at a different size now and I cant find anything that I find fashion forward and good so I make so much stuff anyway that It just came about naturally."
