Hollywood often zeroes in on ideas so nice, they've gotta make 'em twice. And while there's often a year or more between releases (The Truman Show and EdTV, Capote and Infamous, Without Limits and Prefontaine), other times the cinematic cushion is less sizable, meaning movies revolving around the same idea come out in the same year!

White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen are 2013's example, and while Gerard Butler's actioner stormed the gates first, a newly released trailer for Channing Tatum's Oval Office assault leads me to think he'll command the larger audience when all is said and done.

But since first doesn't always mean best, check out the cinematic showdowns that have come before and see which twin picture reigns supreme!
